Book release: Squirrel Mafia

photo.php

Today is the day “Squirrel Mafia” is being released. WOOHOO. I had so much fun working on this particular project. It is one of love, frustration and all that falls in between. People to this day still tell me that these rodents are cute and adorable. I call foul on that. They are evil little bastards whose soul job in this town is to piss me off. I have to say job well done on their part.

Here is the synopsis.

We tend to think of squirrels as cute furry creatures that scamper around playing while looking for nuts. Yet I’ve a different outlook on these rodents from Hades.

As an animal lover, one who’s owned by eight birds, I’ve had the opportunity to observe a group of squirrels around my home here in the suburbs for the past year. The experience I’ve gained gives a whole new meaning to the words ‘little darlings’.

I offer you a unique perspective of the furry friends entangled within our everyday lives. Their antics and shenanigans have earned them the name, the Squirrel Mafia. This book chronicles my ongoing battle with these pesky little critters.

The book can be purchased in print, color or black and white and as an ebook here: http://tinyurl.com/k5nnmjm

The year 2014

WNBH

The year 2014 is winding down. Next week is Christmas after which is New Year. Just press the button and we do it all over again in 2015.

It has been tough where my health is concerned. However it has been a good year writing wise for me. I’ve been to two free conferences. I was fortunate to be invited to a writer’s retreat in South Carolina. I attended two writer’s meet and greet. One as a group for The Wonder Chicks, a writing group I started, as we started talking about our book Dragons in the Attic. The other was for myself as an author.

I wrapped up the final paper work for the literary art grant I won for 2014 and thankfully to that I was able to purchase a smart pen which for anyone who writes longhand or has health issues that makes typing a problem, this gadget rocks.

I also was hired as a freelance writer and photographer for a local upcoming magazine. That brought me more into the community which allowed me to meet amazing people who are making a difference in my area.

And last but not least my second book was picked up by a publisher. So it has been interesting. And it has topped 2013 which I didn’t think was possible but YAY.

I will see you all in January. I hope you have a Merry Christmas, a great New Year and that it is full of joy, happiness and good health. Much well wishes to you all.

My YouTube Channel

There are many ways to promote ourselves and our books. I been working on my author’s platform for a number of years now and have a good grip on the areas I work on. Granted it took a lot of time and effort in the beginning but now I just do touch up once or twice a week.

A new format that I been trying to improve on is YouTube of which I do have a channel. It’s still small with some videos of Jasper and of my books but it is a good avenue for people to check me out. I need to spend more time on this aspect of promoting myself. You can show anything that pertains to you. In my case I have videos of my main character, I have videos of me signing my contract, and other videos of my birds.

It’s a good way for my readers to learn a bit about me for I think we will all agree the easier a reader can relate to an author the easier the bond will form between the two. I know that is how it works for me and with the authors I go gaga over. You know the ones: Stephen King, James Patterson, Agatha Christie and Bentley Little. Granted Madame Christie is no longer with us but the others I watch and observe what they do to make me adore them so and hopefully I can apply those methods to my own works.

So here is the link if anyone wants to take a gander at and perhaps subscribe to.
