Finding pictures for your blog

IMG_0079Where do you find pictures for your blog posts or other social media platforms? There are sites all over that offer photos for free and some for a price. You just have to search online.

One has to be careful of the ones that come with licenses so that you don’t infringe on the person who took that picture. Yes we are small time but what if they decided to sue you for not paying or asking permission for its use?

I am a photographer as well and am constantly taking pictures. That is my resolution so I can rest assure that all is okay as I post away. If you are a writer take pictures of your book, desk, notebook to scenery. Be creative. This is another way to shine your books, your craft and your brand.

There may be times where nothing will fit the content of what you are writing about. Free sites are available to you if you are willing to spend a bit of time looking.

Supermoon

Last Sunday we left the house at 8:30pm to take pictures of the super moon. We came across the photographer for the local paper who shot pictures with us. He was so much fun. I need to take a class by him.

We met a couple from Indiana who were in for a wedding and ended up talking for a while like we knew each other our whole lives. It was so nice. Then stopped into a shop to say hi to a friend according to my husband. I didn’t know the friend was someone I knew. So more time for some good times. After which we stopped at Beef O”Brady for some ice tea and shared a sandwich. We got home at 11 pm.

Simple times, good people, nice night, and some great pictures. All it cost me was a few hours of my time, 10 bucks and some really good memories.

You don’t need to spend a lot of money to have a good time. Plus my husband and I were able to enjoy the supermoon.

Shots Taken

My husband and I are photographers. He is pretty good at it, I am getting there. This past Saturday I suggested we go down town to take some morning shots. It would be a great way to get some more practice and also to spend some time together. With both of us being busy we don’t always have quality time as a couple and I’m finding that grabbing our cameras and heading out has been good for us. We enjoyed it so much that he suggested we go back and take some night shots in the same spot. WINNING!

Above is one of my favorite shots that I took though explaining why I can not. Clicking on the image will give you the full view. Thankfully we have enough pawn shops in the area that our love for cameras and accessories can be funded that way and not at full retail.

It was a great day to get out, the weather was in our favor, great photos were taken by both of us and bottom line, I got to spend time with my husband.
