Open vs Close

Everyone knows for the most part what a hamper is for. It is a simple contraption that requires little thought. You open the lid, place the dirty item inside and close. You are now done until it is time to do the laundry. So why is it hard for my family to not open the lid but instead place the clothes on top or around the hamper? I can’t even blame my son for he has been doing his own laundry since he was 11. So it rests on my husband. I have asked my darling was there a problem, could he not figure it out, did he need help? You know, trying to do my part. His reply was a grunt. Really? It is not rocket science is it?

Does anyone else have this problem or are we the only special family on the block? I decided though to just ignore the frustration and when I see clothes not in the container to fix that. There are worse problems in the world to let this nag at me for as long as it has.

Asleep or Awake

Asleep or Awake?

For Christmas I purchased a camera for my husband that he had mentioned he wanted. When my husband started playing with it, we saw the flash was green and not the regular red of our other cameras. This particular picture seen here is where my husband took a picture of Jasper with the flash on. The green flash illuminated his entire body making my parrot look down at his chest with a “What the hell people?” kind of look. While it does look like he is asleep, he is not. Jasper is just trying to figure out where this green spotlight is coming from. Fortunately my husband figured out how to turn the green off so my poor bird won’t be in a constant state of “What the heck?” mode.

Shots Taken

My husband and I are photographers. He is pretty good at it, I am getting there. This past Saturday I suggested we go down town to take some morning shots. It would be a great way to get some more practice and also to spend some time together. With both of us being busy we don’t always have quality time as a couple and I’m finding that grabbing our cameras and heading out has been good for us. We enjoyed it so much that he suggested we go back and take some night shots in the same spot. WINNING!

Above is one of my favorite shots that I took though explaining why I can not. Clicking on the image will give you the full view. Thankfully we have enough pawn shops in the area that our love for cameras and accessories can be funded that way and not at full retail.

It was a great day to get out, the weather was in our favor, great photos were taken by both of us and bottom line, I got to spend time with my husband.
