I'm a traditionally and self published author. I write in the genre of children and YA at the moment but working my way up to adults. I'm a sports loving, photo taking gal who loves to sing/dance to my own enjoyment. I love to laugh even at myself. I am also owned by 8 birds and 2 hamsters, and yes they know it. :)

Dead or Alive?

Dead or Alive? What do you think?

Among my many birds to keep me company is our black hamster Sylar. His partner passed away a few months ago due to arthritis. Sylar who is now 5 has now become my buddy when I am in my office. He unfortunately has the knack of sleeping in a rather unusual position. One that will be the death of me to be honest. Above is a snapshot of the sleeping position he favors. It is not to clear I realize but if you look among his bulk it would show 3 of his legs are pointing straight up. Why one might ask. Well Sylar likes to sleep on his back with his four legs straight up in the air with his head tossed to the side and mouth open. Something that makes me think he might be dead. Three times I have caught him sleeping this way and three times I have thought he was dead, getting ready to dig a hole for him in the back yard. I love this little guy but good grief my heart is not as strong as it use to be.

“Real Marriage:The Truth About Sex, Friendship and Life Together” by Mark and Grace Driscoll

The book for review is “ Real Marriage: The Truth About Sex, Friendship and Life Together” by Mark and Grace Driscoll.

Pastor Mark and his wife Grace share their experiences with their marriage as they talk about the ups and downs that plagued them. It is not a guide per say like other books that are in this genre. The couple takes us into the problems that married couples encounter along the way including their own.

Whether this is your predicament or not, you will find some useful information that can work for your personal life. It is not an in your face this is how it needs to be done read. The words are soothing and caring and delivered in a way that you are not offended by the advice offered by this couple.

Even if you feel this book is not for you overall, the questioned listed will make you think and evaluate where you stand with your spouse. It will make you step back and go hmm. That alone makes this book worth a look over, even if you don’t read the whole thing. I was not familiar with Pastor Mark before this book but would definitely read another by him.
