The struggles of finding blog content

2013-07-21 18.27.38

Coming up with blog content for this blog, or any blog, is not always easy. And to do it on a weekly basis just adds to the whole process of writing something people might actually want to read instead of just deleting it once it hits their email box. How often is too much? How little is not enough? There are varied opinion to both sides. It all depends on what works for you and your site. I been fortunate that things have popped into my head that I feel might be of interest to my readers. I have not always gotten it right but I still keep plugging away.

But what do I keep plugging? I’m a writer, it is what I do. Even if no one is listening that doesn’t stop me from moving forward and it shouldn’t stop you either. Some people have a theme and stick to it. This could be strictly about their works or perhaps more concentrated on a topic like writing, politics, religions and all that fun stuff.

I like my readers to get to know me as a writer and as a person. For once you are personable to your readers then perhaps you will get a fan for a life time. It is not easy, it takes a lot of time and effort and there are days you wonder what the heck am I still doing this? But once you get the writing bug in you, it is so hard to let go even if you want to let it go. I want to bring people on a journey with me. Like I want to go on a journey with others when they blog about what is on their mind or what is going on with them.

I surely hope I don’t bore the lot of you with my pieces, sometimes just ramblings of what comes into my head. To those who have stayed and read I appreciate it very much. To those I might have lost, safe travels. To those who have not found this place yet, hopefully we will meet soon.

Free classes

I been dubbed the Queen of Webinars by a friend. A title I happily embrace. I only attend the ones that are free. Which brings me to the topic of this post. I have a few friends who think since it is free there can be little to gain and little to learn. I always ask them why they feel this way.

Free doesn’t always mean it will be a bust. Sometimes it just means well that it’s free. Why not take advantage of these opportunities? If you get one nugget, one piece of information, isn’t it worth your time to attend?

Next week I will be attending a free class at the community college on how to market. FREE. They have a great department that is funded by the state and the primary goal of the program is to help people with their business and to impart knowledge that can help us do that.

I will be there just like I will be at any and all future classes available to me whether it be a webinar or class. It is not easy getting oneself out there but to also do it well needs to also be considered. That takes knowledge and people sharing with you what they know that can help propel you forward. Yes, there are many classes and books that will cost money but can equally help you. But when the opportunity presents itself and the cost is zero, you bet your bottom dollar I will be there if I am able to.

Still blows me away that people will not attend simply because the cost is zero.

Our surroundings

Do you get sooooo busy you forget to look up? I know the answer is yes, for it is for me as well. Whether it is from my numerous doctor visits to my writings and all in between, this is me. This is one main reason why I love to take pictures. It takes me away from my phone, computer, social media, TV and any other issues that can make me forget the world I live in.

I go outside and get to walk around my community or whatever area my husband and I choose. He is more of a people person and loves taking pictures of us human beings. I gravitate toward scenery of all kinds.

On our outings which can last from a couple of hours in the minimum to four or five hours we always will stop by a place to eat and talk and discuss the pictures we took or things we may have seen or people we may have talked to.

Even if our pictures don’t all come out it is a great time toe be reminded there are other things in this world besides TV, computers and the internet. We get to busy with our everyday lives, with the promise of taking time off always on the tip of our tongues, but how often do we do that?

My husband is rarely seen without his camera, the promise of finding THE picture on his journey to work, bowling or to a client’s base of operation. I started taking up this habit of his and thankfully so. For I managed to take this picture.

I hope you all look up and see what is going on around you.
