It is the last month of the year for 2015. It is time to wrap up any business I might have before starting with a new list of things I want to accomplish in 2016. Some events has already been established for next year.
If you are a writer, have you accomplished what you want for this year? Have you been able to get to where you wanted to go? Have you been able to write as much as you had hoped for?
Some of the answers may not be to your liking, my liking. But I think it is a good idea to sit down and be honest with yourself so you can better plan for 2016. It is a good time to see where you stand on what you wanted to get done. If you are able to check off a good many, good for you. If not, figure out why you fell short. If it was beyond your control don’t beat yourself up on it if you were not as productive as you were hoping for. Life will get in the way such as health and family issues to just name a few will get to the top of the list for a good portion of us. For me those did rise to the top. But that’s okay.
If you are still enjoying what you do that is a big plus. If it is not work to you, pat yourself on the back. That is something to be happy about.
To everyone who is a writer, publisher, literary agent, editor or graphic designer I hope next year is even more productive than 2015.
Hi Sharon. I did accomplish a bit more this past year but not nearly as much as I had hoped. One step at a time, as the saying goes. I think this new year is going to change it all. I have hope and faith that all the work I have done up to this point is going to move my status up to the next level. At least I hope so.
I hope so for you as well, all we can do is try. I feel there are great things for you ahead, I really do.
I’m certainly hanging on in there. Nothing else I would rather do. :o)
You were meant to do this.
Yes and no. I did manage to finish and send another manuscript. However, I am hung up on the things I didn’t accomplish like getting more reviews and getting more FB page likes.
First of all yay you for finishing another MS. That deserves a pat on the back. As for the reviews I am in the same boat so totally get what you are saying. Not all medias will work for us and I find FB page is one of them for me personally. I suspect ithings will get better for you for you are trying and I see that so please keep at it.
Yes, I am trying, but maybe too hard. I don’t know. My goal for FB was to reach 250 likes by the end of the year. I don’t think this is going to happen. Of course when you have few friends and family willing to share your page, it’s difficult, but I will keep working. I guess I’m just the tortoise in this “race”. 🙂
There are times I think I try to hard as well. Especially when the results end up not being what we want them to be or hope either. Keep at it and any time you need to talk or vent, I am here. 🙂
Thank you! Sometimes it feels like I’m alone, even though I know I’m not. Writing is hard, but I love it! 🙂
That is it in a nutshell. Well said. 🙂
I managed to pick up a publisher for one of my books, but things are moving slow there. I also published a short story book and took some online classes. I’m trying to sweep off my desk, so to speak, for the new year.
Family seemed to be the biggy this year! Whew. I’m crossing my fingers I can get most of my stuff wrapped up so I can finish my YA novel nest year:)
Happy Holiday’s!!
Keep at it. Life does have a way of disrupting what we want to do. 😄 Sounds like you had a plus. Pat on the back for you.
